    What is the impact of Demerger on Vedanta Ltd positions in MTF?

    Vedanta Ltd has announced a demerger of its existing business into 5 independent entities (including existing Vedanta Ltd), with a record date of May 01, 2026 (ex-date: April 30, 2026).

     

    Important updates related to your MTF positions during the demerger:

    ◼️You can continue holding your existing MTF positions in Vedanta.

    ◼️Margins in MTF for Vedanta will increase to 75%, effective Monday, April 27, 2026 EOD.

    ◼️Monitor your existing position and maintain sufficient margin to avoid auto square-off of open positions.

    ◼️For every share of Vedanta Ltd you hold, you will receive 1 equity share of each of the four new entities.

    ◼️The newly listed entities will be released as free holding in your demat account within 1 day from the listing date. You may have to manually allocate these shares for reflecting in your “Demat Holdings” section through the Allocate option on the Demat holdings page.

    ◼️A special price discovery session will be held on April 30, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Buying and selling of Vedanta through MTF will not be allowed during this session.
