What are the reasons behind a mismatch in Portfolio and Portfolio Beta?

A mismatch between Portfolio and Portfolio Beta can occur due to the following reasons:

    Off-market Transactions:

If you have bought shares through a different broker, the transaction price updated in Portfolio Beta reflects the closing price of the stock as on the date of transfer to ICICI Direct. Since these off-market transactions are not automatically updated in the Portfolio, there might be a mismatch in the quantity of that stock.

    Corporate Actions:

In the case of corporate actions like mergers, demergers, or capital reductions, the "Portfolio" is not updated automatically, whereas "Portfolio Beta" reflects these changes. This can cause a discrepancy in the quantity of shares displayed.

    Manual Entries:

If you have manually updated your Portfolio with entries for transactions not executed through ICICI Direct, there could be a mismatch between Portfolio and Portfolio Beta.

    How to resolve this:

On the Portfolio page, you can manually add or modify the purchase/sale rate and transaction date. Follow these steps:

    • Go to Portfolio.

    • Under the Actions column, click on the edit icon for the relevant stock.

    • Click on Transaction History.

    • Select the checkbox under the Edit column to update the rate and date.
