The company was incorporated on 5th March 1986 and was founded by Late Dhirubhai Ambani. The company posted a net loss of Rs 1,773 in the December quarter of 2021-22. Reliance Capital is listed on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) under the name RELCAPITAL.
The company operates in various segments like the insurance sector, broking and distribution, asset reconstruction, and commercial and housing finance. Its product portfolio includes life insurance, health insurance, general insurance, SME loans, vehicle finance, wealth and portfolio management services, and many more. The company also has branches in Singapore, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
When it comes to the companys shareholding structure, promoters own only 1.51% of the R Capital shares. On the other hand, retail investors own 94.85% of the companys shares. Compared to industry averages, the companys debt-to-equity ratio and current ratio have both deteriorated in the past few years. However, despite the positive revenue, the company posted a whopping loss of 9,404 crores in the financial year 2020-21.
