    You can close your ICICI Direct trading account from website using below easy steps –

    3) Scroll down to click on ‘New Service Request’ in Self Help section

    4) Select ‘Trading Account Closure’ option

    5) Read the consent and click on ‘I Agree’

    6) Enter the OTP send on your registered Mobile number and Email ID.

    7) You will be redirected to the protean website for e-sign. Protean is government approved company to do e-sign. Type your Aadhaar card number, click on Terms and conditions and click on send OTP.

    8) You will receive the OTP on Mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card. Enter OTP and click on Verify OTP.

    9) Once OTP is verified, your request to close trading account is complete. It will take one working day to close your account. You will receive the confirmation on Email once account is closed.

    If you wish to make a minor name correction (as per PAN) in your ICICI Direct trading account, you can do so online through re-KYC.

    Steps-

    1. Log in to ICICI Direct Website
    2. Go to Help (?) → New Service Request → Update Address/KYC in Trading Account
    3. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code
    4. Verify OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
    5. Log in to Digilocker and select PAN and Aadhaar Card
    6. Confirm your name as per PAN
    7. Review your updated details and proceed
    8. Take a selfie (allow camera and location access when prompted)
    9. Complete e-sign using your Aadhaar number and OTP on Protean’s website

    If it mismatches, you will be prompted to enter your name as per your PAN. If entered name is exactly as per your PAN details, you will be allowed to proceed further.



    1) Your updated name and personal details will be shown. Please check and confirm.

    2) Click 'Proceed to take selfie' and allow camera access when prompted

    3) Once the selfie is captured successfully, you'll see a green outline

    4) Allow location access when prompted for IPV (In-Person Verification)

    5) You will be redirected for E-sign on protean website. Select the checkboxes on the form and enter your Aadhaar number to proceed.

    6) You will receive OTP on your Aadhaar linked mobile number. Verify the OTP to complete the e-signature process

    7) Your online Name change application is now complete. It will take up to 3 days to update the name in both Trading and Demat account.

    Can I register my relatives email ID and mobile number in my ICICI Direct account?

    As per regulatory guidelines, you may register the contact details of your spouse, dependent children, or dependent parents in your account.
    However, relative’s contact details (outside these relations) cannot be used while opening an ICICI Direct account.

    Can I use a common email ID and mobile number for multiple family accounts?

    Yes, you can keep common email id and mobile number in multiple accounts, provided it belongs to your family (Spouse, Dependent Children and Dependent Parents). However, you will not be able to register your relatives common email id and mobile number while opening ICICI Direct account.

    You can register common Email ID and Mobile number in maximum six family account. In these family accounts email/ Mobile relationship will be Self, Spouse, two Dependent Children and two Dependent Parents.

    ICICI Direct sends this email alert when you log in from a device which used to access multiple accounts. This alert ensures that you are notified of possible account breaches and helps maintain your account security. If you are using multiple family accounts from same device, you can ignore this mail.     Please note-

    • You need to have mobile number linked to Aadhaar card for changing contact details. If your mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar, you can update contact details offline.
    • Sometimes due to slowness at Protean, you may face delay in receiving OTP on Aadhaar liked mobile number. In such scenarios, please wait for some time and retry.
    • Once contact details updated, you will receive all communication on ICICI Direct on new contact details
    • Online contact modification is only available for individual account. If you hold non-individual account, you can update contact details offline.
    Why am I unable to register my spouse’s email ID and mobile number in my ICICI Direct account?
    You will not be able to update your spouse’s email if and mobile number in your ICICI Direct account if

    A. You both have not declared Marital Status as Married. In this case, you should ensure that Marital status in both accounts is Married.

    B. Gender of account holders you are marking as Spouse are same. In this case, you need to provide either correct Email ID/ Mobile number relationship or provide different mobile number.

    C. You have not declared common email ID Mobile number in one of account as Self. As in case of common email id and mobile number, it is mandatory to have relationship as ‘Self’ in at least one active account. You will need to register relationship of common email ID and Mobile number as self in your one of the accounts.

    Why am I unable to register my parent’s email ID and mobile number in my ICICI Direct account?

    You will not be able to update your dependent parent’s email if and mobile number in your ICICI Direct account if

    A. Your age is greater than Dependent parent’s account. In this case, you need to provide either correct Email ID/ Mobile number relationship or provide different mobile number.

    B. Gender of both account holders you are marking as Dependent parents are same. In this case, you need to provide either correct email ID/ Mobile number relationship or provide different mobile number.

    C. You have not declared common email ID Mobile number in one of account as Self. As in case of common email id and mobile number, it is mandatory to have relationship as ‘Self’ in at least one active account.     What is Login Authenticator? How to enable/ disable the Login Authenticator? How to login using Login Authenticator?

    You can login to your ICICI Direct account using Login Authenticator code instead of OTP. This provides alternate way to login to your account.

    Please follow below steps to enable Login Authenticator –

    1) Log in to your ICICI Direct account

    2) Navigate to the "Settings"

    3) Select the option to enable "Login Authenticator" and choose to proceed with Google Authenticator.

    4) Download the Google Authenticator app on your smartphone if you haven't already.

    5) Open the app and scan the QR code displayed on the ICICI Direct screen. Alternatively, manually enter the provided key.

    6) The authenticator setup is now complete.

     

    You can log in to your ICICI Direct account using the Login Authenticator –

    1) When you log in to ICICI Direct, after entering your user ID and password/ PIN, you will be prompted to enter the six-digit code from your Google Authenticator app.

    You can nominate a representative by entering the following details of the representative:

    1) Name of Authorized Representative (First & last name mandatory)

    2) Date of Birth of Authorized Person (In DD/MM/YY format only)

    3) Authorized Person code: This could be a 4–10-digit code which needs to be provided by you. This code needs to be provided by the Authorized Representative at the time of verification by our Customer Care executive

    4) Relation / Designation of Authorized Representative

     

    The Authorized Representative will be able to perform only non-financial transactions as stated below:

    1) Request for any statement.

    2) Request for password (physical pin mailer to be delivered at registered address or GRID to be sent at registered e-mail id)

    3) Ask for any clarification on the account / transaction

    4) Get to know about processes

    5) Register a complaint

     

    Please Note:

    1. The authorized representative will be authorized only to seek clarifications for the queries & not place orders or trade on behalf of the account holder

    2. No personal information of the account holder will be shared or allowed to be modified by the Authorized Person

    How to change the date of birth in ICICI Direct trading account?

    If your Date of Birth in ICICI Direct trading account is not as per PAN details, you can change it easily online by following easy steps.

    Steps for address change in trading account-

    1) Login to ICICI Direct website
