    What is the transmission process for a single or joint Demat Account?

    The transmission process depends on the type of account and the claimant. The applicable process falls under one of the following categories:

    • Joint Holder Case

    • Nominee Case

    • Legal Heir (Holdings up to ₹15 lakh)

    • Legal Heir (Holdings above ₹15 lakh)

    The required documents vary based on the applicable scenario.

    Common documents

    The following documents are generally required:

    • Duly filled and signed Transmission Form

    • Attested copy of the Death Certificate

    • Self-attested PAN Card copy of the claimant(s), wherever applicable

    • Client Master List (CML) in crystal format, if the claimant’s Demat Account is held with another Depository Participant (DP)

    • Duly filled Due Diligence Form

    Additional requirements

    Depending on the applicable transmission case, additional documents may include:

    • Notarised Affidavit

    • Succession Certificate

    • Probate of Will

    • Letter of Administration

    • Court Decree

    • Legal Heirship Certificate

    • Indemnity Bond

    • No Objection Certificate (NOC)

    • Family Settlement Deed

    Important points

    • The claimant’s Demat Account should be singly held.

    • If the nominee, claimant, or legal heir is a minor, the relevant supporting documents, including the guardian’s KYC, must be submitted.

    • If the Death Certificate is issued outside India, it must be duly attested by the appropriate Indian Embassy, Consulate, Notary, or other prescribed authority, as applicable.

    • Any corrections or cancellations on legal documents must be duly authenticated by a Notary.

    • All scanned copies submitted should be clear and legible.

    Trading Account Closure

    For closure of the deceased customer’s Trading Account, submit the following documents:

    • Self-attested PAN Card copy of the deceased

    • Self-attested Death Certificate

    • Annexure 1

    • Self-attested PAN Card of the notifier

    • Self-attested Aadhaar Card or any other Officially Valid Document (OVD) of the notifier

    • Due Diligence Form

    Submit all required documents at your nearest Demat-enabled ICICI Bank branch for further processing.
