    Intraday Trading

Why did the stop-loss order execute even though the trigger price was not reached?

Your stop-loss order was executed at the exchange’s actual market price, even though that price may not appear on your chart. Charts display summarised snapshots of trading activity rather than every individual trade executed at the exchange.
Your order was executed at a valid market price that briefly existed but was not captured in the chart’s data snapshots.

Why charts can miss execution prices

Exchanges process thousands of trades every second, often within microseconds. Brokers receive this market data as ticks, snapshots captured at regular intervals rather than a record of every individual trade.

Since charts are built using these aggregated ticks, a trade that occurs briefly and moves the price for only a fraction of a second may not appear on the chart, even though it was a valid execution price at the exchange.

    Data and exchange limitations

While exchanges can produce full tick-by-tick (TBT) records, these data feeds are extremely large and are not practical to stream continuously to every broker over the internet. As a result, brief price movements caused by large or rapid orders may not appear in the market data snapshots used by brokers

    How are orders executed?

When an order is submitted, the broker immediately forwards it to the exchange. The exchange centrally matches and executes orders; brokers do not control the execution price.
You can verify your trade execution using the exchange trade ID through the  NSE trade verification module.
