LOCAL STOCKS TRADE FLAT

The key equity barometers traded flat in early trade. Nifty opened at 24225 and hit a high of 24265 in first half hour of trade. Nifty 50, Nifty Auto and Nifty Bank shares advanced. At 09:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, down 47.08 points to 77,490.64. The Nifty 50 index down 0 points to 24,231.85. The broader market performed better than frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index posted modest losses of 0.17% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index inched up 0.27%. The market breadth was well-supported. On the BSE, 1732 shares advanced and 1375 shares declined. A total of 191 shares were unchanged. Nifty 50 index remained flat. The index has eased by 0.03% in last one month and edged lower by 3.27% over last one year. Shriram Finance, up 0.96%, led the losers followed by Hindalco Inds., inching higher 0.95% and Tata Steel, gaining 0.76%, respectively. Out of 50 index constituents, 0 are reporting loss today. Nifty Auto index remained flat. The index has gained 8.41% in last one month and posted strong gains of 15.05% over last one year. Tata Motors PVeh, adding 0.50%, led the losers. Out of 15 index constituents, 0 are reporting loss today. Nifty Bank index remained flat. The index has inched lower by 0.78% in last one month and edged higher by 3.23% over last one year. Federal Bank, edging up 0.56%, led the losers followed by HDFC Bank, edging up 0.48% and Kotak Mah. Bank, up 0.48%, respectively. Out of 14 index constituents, 0 are reporting loss today. In NIFTY500, Welspun Corp is the top gainer today, spiking 10.49% to Rs 2214.30. The counter is sharply higher by 129.77% in last one year. It recorded an average volume quantity of 37418.33 in last five sessions compared to 42263.79 over last one month. Asian markets were marginally higher on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite remained flat, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is ahead by 0.75%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is down 0.44%.
