LOCAL STOCKS FINISHED SLIGHTLY LOWER

The key domestic indices closed on a weak note. Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal and Nifty Media shares gained, while Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG shares retreated. As per provisional closing data, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, edged lower by 281.09 points or 0.36% to 77,728.16. The Nifty 50 index inched down 78.35 points or 0.32% to 24,287.65. The broader market outpaced the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index inched up 0.18% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index added 0.06%. The market breadth was negative. On the BSE, 2367 shares rose and 2865 shares declined. A total of 240 shares were unchanged. Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd was the top traded stock in NIFTY50 index today, recording a quantity of 253.43 lakh shares and saw a sharp spurt of 127.69% compared to last one-week’s average daily volume. The stock has slumped by around 5.02% in last one-month and has drifted lower 0.23% over last one year. Eternal Ltd was the second highest traded stock in NIFTY50 index today, recording a quantity of 189.72 lakh shares and registered a sharp decline of 9.90% compared to last one-week’s average daily volume. The stock has risen sharply by around 11.31% in last one-month and has gained modestly 0.03% over last one year. 6 stocks in NSE500 index hit record high today.
