News:UBL has filed an appeal before the National Company Law Appelate Tribunal (NCLAT) against the CCI order (dated 24th Sept, 21), which imposed a fine of Rs.752 crore for alleged cartelisation in sale and supply of beer.
Views: NCLAT hears appeals against any order issued or order passed by the CCI. The management if of the view that it has a strong case on merit for successful appeal on the matter. UBL competitor AB InBev has been spared by the CCI (due to reporting the incident to CCI), while Carlsberg has been directed to pay Rs.120 crore as penaly.
