In a regulatory exchange filing, Tata Motors has informed exchanges about entering into a definitive agreement with Delhi Transport Corporation for operating 1,500 electric buses in Delhi. This will cover supply, operations and maintenance of 1500 low-floor, 12-metre air conditioned electric buses for a period of 12 years.
This order is part of the last tender won by the company for supply and operating ~5,450 buses issued by CESL on behalf of different state authorities. The company, till date, has remained at the forefront of electrification in the PV as well as e-bus space amid supportive government policies and has won the largest order for electric buses domestically.
