News: Bharat Electronics (BEL) has signed an MoU with Globals ITES Pvt Ltd (GIPL) for cooperation in technology development, co-creation and co-innovation, joint marketing and sales, in the fields of cyberwarfare and cyber defence systems. BEL and GIPL will jointly create sector-specific cyber security solutions, integrated threat management systems, modern security operations centres (SOC), and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven cyber defence systems. BEL has also signed an MoU with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for domestic manufacture and supply of its LORA Weapon System for the Indian Triservices. BEL will be the prime contractor for the weapon system, based on the workshare arrangement with IAI

Views: BEL has strong capabilities in developing and manufacturing electronics systems/sub-systems used in defence or non-defence areas. The MoU with GIPL would further help in leveraging the complementary strengths and capabilities of both the companies as they work in close coordination, providing all the key assistance to each other for R&D as well as joint go-to-market for cyber security solutions. The MoU signed with IAI for domestic manufacturing & supply of its LORA weapon systems for Indian armed forces is also positive for BEL considering that the LORA’s lethality as the quasi-ballistic missile weapon system with hypersonic speed and modernised guidance systems
