News: Shree Cement has commissioned Nawalgarh (Rajasthan) cement plant with clinker capacity of 3.8 million tonnes (mtpa) and cement capacity at 3.5 mtpa. Total capex for this integrated plant was at Rs 3500 crore. The facility also includes a 33 MW waste heat recovery-based power plant, utilizing waste gases from the clinkerisation process. The company also states that the plant is strategically situated in the North-Eastern part of Rajasthan, providing a strong logistical advantage and will help in reducing the overall freight cost.
Views: With the commissioning of this new plant, Shree Cement's total cement capacity in India has increased to 53.4 mtpa from 49.9 mtpa. The company has five integrated facilities now across the three states - Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka. We believe that, with this new expansion, the company would further solidify its position in North India region. In the longer term, Company aims to reach 80 mtpa of cement capacity by 2028, mainly through organic route.
