Indian PV Industry to see important product launches this week
As per media sources, Tata Motors is likely to launch Tata Tiago EV on September 28 while Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) is likely to unveil prices of Grand Vitara (mid-Size SUV) on September 26, 2022. Toyota will showcase its flex-fuel offering in India (E-85, left hand drive Toyota Corolla hybrid) on September 28.
Both these are important models for the Indian markets. Tata Tiago is expected to be the most affordable EV offered by Tata and would be its third E-PV offering after Nexon EV & Tigor EV. It is expected to come with 26 Kwh battery pack and certified range of 300 km. On the Grand Vitara front, with its sibling (from Toyota’s slate) already announcing price of Urban Cruiser Hyryder at Rs 15.1-19 lakh/unit (ex-showroom) for the top four variants (including strong hybrids), the pricing for Grand Vitara is expected to be in a similar range. Present order book for Grand Vitara is encouraging at 55,000 units at MSIL.
