News: Dwarikesh Sugar has commissioned a 175 KLD distillery at its Faridpur unit in Bareilly. After this capex, its total distillery capacity would reach 337.5 KLD (11 crore litre per annum).
Impact: With this capacity addition, the company would be able to divert more sugarcane towards ethanol production through sugarcane juice process. The company would bring down its overall sugar production hence solving the problem of excess sugar inventory. The higher proportion of ethanol sales would perk up operating margins. Ethanol sales would contribute ~30% to its revenues in FY24.
