DRDO conducts two successful test flightsBDL - 962 Change: -4.30 (-0.45 %)
DRDO has conducted two successful test flights of very short range air defence system (VSHORADS) missile. VSHORADS, which is a man portable air defence system (MANPAD) designed and developed indigenously by DRDO, incorporates many novel technologies including miniaturised reaction control system (RCS) and integrated avionics, which have been successfully proven during the tests.
With these successful tests by DRDO, these missile systems will now be further tested with the Indian Army in the coming period. Bharat Dynamics (BDL) is the nominated manufacturer for the VSHORADS. The company is already in the process of setting up a new facility at Amravati (Maharashtra) to manufacture these missiles. We expect the order for these missiles to be placed with BDL after all the successful tests from DRDO with the Indian Army.
