Data Patterns develops check-out equipment for BrahMos missiles
DATAPATTNS - 1641 Change: 37.05 (2.31 %)News: Data Patterns (DPIL) has unveiled an indigenously developed check-out equipment (COE) for BrahMos missiles. This COE is a three-bay test system that checks the health and functionality of the missile’s electrical sub-systems. As per the BrahMos management, currently imported COE systems from Russia have been used by BrahMos and Indian armed forces, which is three times costlier than this indigenous COE and this will result in significant cost savings. The BrahMos missile has reached an indigenisation level of 75%
Views: Data Patterns has already been the sole supplier of key electronic sub-systems for the BrahMos missile programme for the past many years. These include fire control systems, launch control systems, RF seekers, missile calibration system, missile simulators and missile test systems. With this newly developed check-out equipment, the company’s involvement in BrahMos missile supply chain has increased substantially considering the importance of these systems in testing and launching of missiles. Recently, the government has also granted Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) to BrahMos missiles for Navy. Apart from requirement from Indian Armed Forces, there is a significant export opportunity also for these missiles. DPIL has strong order backlog at Rs 1014 crore as of January 2023 end (2.3x TTM revenues), of which ~56% are development contracts. The large part of fund raising through QIP would also be used for new product developments, which will eventually benefit DPIL in bidding for more contracts from the defence and space industry
Impact: Positive
