  • Revenue: Rs 4,448.0 million against Rs 4,174.6 million during Q2FY25, change 6.5%.
  • EBITDA: Rs 1,488.7 million against Rs 1,470.8 million during Q2FY25, change 1.2%.
  • EBITDA Margin: 33.5% for Q2FY26.
  • PAT: Rs 756.2 million against Rs 790.1 million during Q2FY25, change -4.3%.
  • PAT Margin: 17.0% for Q2FY26.

Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman & Managing Director of Rainbow Children’s Medicare, said: “While Q2 was seasonally softer, it was also a quarter of strategic progress for Rainbow.   • Revenue grew by 6.9%, from Rs 3,302.2 million in Q1FY25 to Rs 3,529.3 million in Q1FY26.
  • EBITDA grew by 10.6%, from Rs 937.2 million in Q1FY25 to Rs 1,036.2 million in Q1FY26.
  • EBITDA % increased by 98 bps, from 28.4% in Q1FY25 to 29.4% in Q1FY26.
  • PAT grew by 35.4%, from Rs 397.3 million in Q1FY25 to Rs 538.1 million in Q1FY26.
  • PAT % increased by 321 bps, from 12.0% in Q1FY25 to 15.2% in Q1FY26.

Q4FY25 Financial Highlights:

  • Revenue rose by 8.5% to Rs 3,701.1 million from Rs 3,411.0 million.
  • EBITDA increased by 8.7% to Rs 1,147.3 million from Rs 1,055.4 million.
  • EBITDA Margin improved by 6 bps to 31.0% from 30.9%.
  • PAT grew by 10.7% to Rs 565.5 million from Rs 510.7 million.
  • PAT Margin expanded by 31 bps to 15.3% from 15.0%.

FY25 Financial Highlights:

  • Revenue grew by 16.9% to Rs 15,158.7 million from Rs 12,969.0 million.
  • EBITDA rose by 14.2% to Rs 4,898.9 million from Rs 4,288.8 million.
  • EBITDA Margin declined by 75 bps to 32.3% from 33.1%.
  • PAT increased by 11.9% to Rs 2,442.3 million from Rs 2,182.9 million.
  • PAT Margin contracted by 72 bps to 16.1% from 16.8%.

Speaking about the performance for Q4FY25, Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman & Managing Director of Rainbow Children’s Medicare , said: “On the operational front, our performance in Q4 is seasonally muted when compared to the stronger results delivered in the second and third quarters of the year. In Q4FY25, our revenue stood at Rs 3,701.1 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 8.5% from Rs 3,411 million in Q4FY24. Our EBITDA reached Rs 1,147.3 million, up 8.7% from Rs 1,055.4 million, while our PAT rose 10.7% to Rs 565.5 million from Rs 510.7 million in the same period last year.

With a network of over 2,000 beds, including managed facilities, we have a well-balanced mix of established and emerging hospitals. The PAT for Q2FY25 was Rs 790.1 million, an increase of 25.1% from Rs 631.6 million in Q2FY24.

Commenting on the Performance for Q1 FY25, Ramesh Kancharla, Chairman & Managing Director of Rainbow Children’s Medicare, said: “I am delighted to share that we have delivered a strong performance this quarter. Our revenue for Q1 FY25 reached Rs 3,302 million, marking a robust 15% increase from Rs 2,872 million in Q1 FY24. Our EBITDA for the quarter was Rs 937 million, reflecting a growth of 6.9% compared to Rs 877 million in Q1 FY24. Although our PAT for Q1 FY25 was Rs 397 million, a decrease of 4.2% from Rs 415 million in Q1 FY24, this is attributable to the initial costs associated with our new hospitals.

We currently have 2000 beds including the managed beds, with a right mix of matured and new beds. Our focus remains to drive occupancies and optimize operations across the group along with custromer delight. We are confident in our ability to drive growth in the upcoming quarters.”

  • Board recommends final dividend of 30% per Equity Share of Face Value Rs 10 amounting to Rs 304.5 million [Dividend Rs 3 per equity share]
  • Project Status update:
    • Development of the spoke hospital at Hennur, Bengaluru (~60 beds) and the regional spoke hospital at Rajahmundry (~100 beds) is progressing well and will be completed in the next 12 months. Both the hospitals are likely to commence operations in Q4FY25.
    • For the regional spoke hospital at Coimbatore, the project work has just started and is expected to commence operations in 24 months.
  • The company has received the possession letter for the land parcels at Gurugram at sector 44 and 56 respectively. The company expects the ground breaking in next 3-4 months.
  • The company continued to have strong balance sheet and have cash & cash equivalent, fixed deposits and mutual fund investments aggregating to Rs 5,159 million as of March 31, 2024, which will be deployed for the ongoing capex plan of the company. Based on the present cash flow and expected internal accrual in the coming years, the company expects to complete all the planned capex with internal accruals and balance IPO funds.
  • During the quarter, company has spent Rs 504 million for the capex.

Financial Performance:

  • Revenue: Rs 3,359.6 million, marking a YoY growth of 9.6% compared to Rs 3,064.0 million in Q3FY23.
  • EBITDA: Achieved Rs 1,180.8 million with a 10.6% increase from Rs 1,067.6 million in the same quarter the previous year. EBITDA margin was at 35.1%.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT): Grew by 7.4%, reaching Rs 625.7 million from Rs 582.4 million in Q3FY23, with PAT margin reporting a slight dip by 38 bps to 18.6%.

Operational Highlights:

  • Capacity and Beds: Expanded to 1,655 operational beds, a 6% increase from 1,555 beds in Q3FY23.
  • Occupancy Rate: Experienced a decrease to 50.8%, a 630 bps drop from 57.1% in Q3FY23.
  • Inpatient Discharges: Slightly increased to 22,888 from 22,665 YoY.
  • Outpatient Consultations: Small growth to 3,17,146 consultations, up from 3,15,485 in the same quarter last year.
  • Deliveries: Witnessed an uptick to 4,127 deliveries compared to 4,019 previously.
  • Average Revenue Per Occupied Bed (ARPOB): Stood at Rs 55,768.
  • Average Length of Stay (ALOS): Reduced slightly to 2.63 days from 2.77 days YoY.

New Developments and Expansion:

  • Commissioned the 8th hospital in Hyderabad with 60 beds.
  • Ongoing projects include the finalization of hospitals in Anna Nagar, Chennai, and Sarjapur Road, Bangalore, expected to commence in Q4FY24.
  • Continued development in Hennur, Bangalore, and Rajahmundry, with expected completion in the next 12-15 months.
  • Acquired two land parcels in Gurgaon for future expansion.

The revenues for Q4FY23 were Rs 3,169.66 million, which is a growth of 49.20% compared to Rs 2,124.47 million in Q4FY22. The EBIDTA for Q4FY23 was Rs 980.07 million, which is a growth of 103.62% compared to Rs 481.33 million in Q4FY22, and the PAT for Q4FY23 was Rs 538.63 million, which is a growth of 339.34% compared to Rs 122.60 million in Q4FY22.

The company is focused on executing the business plan, put forth during the IPO, of adding 1000 beds across the target markets. The proposed expansion for the current financial year includes the addition of ~270 beds in Central Hyderabad (60 beds), Hydernagar (50 beds), Anna Nagar (80 beds), and Sarjapur (80 beds). Additional ~160 beds are slated for commencement in the next financial year at Rajahmundry (100 beds) and a new spoke hospital in Bengaluru (60 beds). Furthermore, the company aims to increase its bed count by ~400 across the National Capital Region by FY26-27.
