ICICIdirect Research 28 Sep 2026 DISCLAIMER

News: Sun Pharma has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with LIB Therapeutics to commercialise and manufacture Lerodalcibep (a bad cholesterol lowering agent) excluding US and China. Lyrokaul (Lerodalcibep) is a once monthly inhibitor for LDL-Cholesterol lowering with 6-month EU ambient storage. Sun will pay upfront payment to LIB along with future milestone payments together with royalties based on net sales in the licensed territories the specific financials of the same have not been disclosed.

View: The deal is likely to Strengthen Sun Pharma’s Innovative Medicines portfolio through access to a US$3.7 billion PCSK9 market Ex-US and China, growing at 38% CAGR; global PCSK9 market approaching US$7 billion in 2026. This could also be Sun’s maiden specialty cardiovascular foray and bodes well given the growth prospects. Although we remain neutral on overall prospects post the Organon deal, these kind agreements could open new avenues for the growing specialty portfolio.

Impact: Positive
