KEC International’s Mali branch has received an assessment order from the Directorate of Large Enterprise

ICICIdirect Research 30 Sep 2026 DISCLAIMER

News: KEC International’s Mali branch has received an assessment order from the Directorate of Large Enterprise (DGE), Mali, for the period January 2020–December 2021, involving a tax demand of FCFA 367 million (₹6.10 crore) and penalties of FCFA 408 million (~₹6.79 crore). The order relates to taxation of offshore supplies using an ad-hoc margin and rejection of a Ministerial Decree exempting the project from taxes. KEC is pursuing legal remedies and, based on legal advice, does not expect a material financial impact.

View: The demand is limited in size relative to KEC’s operations, while the company intends to contest the assessment and has been advised that the demand is not correct. Hence, the development is unlikely to materially impact earnings or operations unless the ongoing legal challenge is unsuccessful.

Impact: Negative
