Bharti Airtel has increased tariffs across its postpaid plans by ₹50

ICICIdirect Research 08 Oct 2026 DISCLAIMER

News: Bharti Airtel has increased tariffs across its postpaid plans by ₹50, with the revised prices effective 8 October. The hike amounts to roughly 3–11%, depending on the plan. Alongside the price increase, Airtel has added benefits including one free international-roaming trip annually. The move comes after Airtel had last raised its headline tariffs in June 2024, while its latest move also follows the company’s decision in August to withdraw the entry-level ₹299 prepaid plan offering 1 GB daily data.

View: With ~8% of subscriber base being post paid, the hike is likely to boost overall ARPU by ₹ 4 or ~1.5% of the current levels and roughly consolidated EBITDA by 1%. The combined effect of prepaid rationalisation and post paid hike will boost overall ARPU by 3-4%, in our view. We note that if peers follow, it could mark the beginning of a broader industry-wide tariff/ARPU repair cycle.

Impact: Positive
