Nifty October futures trade at discount

The Nifty October 2023 futures closed at 19,616.10, a discount of 8.60 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 19,624.70 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 shed 46.40 points or 0.24% to settle at 19,624.70.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, decreased 1% to 10.86.

HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank and Reliance Industries (RIL) were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The October 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 26 October 2023.
