Nifty October futures trade at discount

The Nifty October 2023 futures closed at 19,809, a discount of 2.50 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 19,811.50 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 shed 79.75 points or 0.40% to settle at 19,811.50.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 3.38% to 10.70.

HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The October 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 26 October 2023.
