Nifty January futures trade at premium

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 21,782.05, a premium of 71.25 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 21,710.80 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 added 52.20 points or 0.24% to 21,710.80.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 5.25% to 12.63.

HDFC Bank, ICICI bank, Infosys and were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
