Nifty December futures trade at premium

The Nifty December 2023 futures closed at 20,269.10, a premium of 135.95 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 20,096.60 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 added 36.55 points or 0.18% to 20,133.15.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 0.13% to 12.69.

HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries (RIL) and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The December 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 28 December 2023.
