    Commodity Margin And Settlement

    How are commodity contracts settled at expiry?
    • Cash-Settled Futures & all Options: At ICICI Direct, we square off all open position in cash settled future contract and all commodity option contract by 8:30 PM on expiry day, on best effort basis.
    • Physically Settled Futures: Commodities like Gold, Silver, Base Metal are Physically settled commodity at exchange but ICICI Direct does not offer physical delivery. So, all physically settle future contracts are settled/closed by 8:30 PM on 1 day prior to start of tender period/staggered delivery period on best effort basis.
    Funds are available in my bank account, but I still got a margin call. Why? Why was my position auto-squared off by the system?
