Scan Projects Limited, formerly known as Ambala Cements Limited was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in February, 1992 and was subsequently converted into a Public Limited Company in June, 1996. Name of the Company was changed to Scan Project Limited on December 9, 2010. The management of the Company has changed its main objects and is engaged in providing engineering services, including erection, commissioning, and supervision services, as well as trading in fabricating materials, designing and project drawing equipment parts, and other related items.
Commercial production commenced on 28 Jun.`93. The Company undertook an expansion project in 1995-96 to enhance its capacity from 16,500 tons per annum to 66,000 tons per annum. To part-finance the expansion project and to finance the requirement of margin money of working capital for the expansion project, the company came out with a public issue in Mar.`96.
In 2002, Company had reestablished its business activities, which led to its revival. The Company discontinued its main manufacturing activities (i.e. manufacturing of ordinary Portland cement) since January, 2002. Previously the company commenced new activities i.e. Erection, commissioning, supervision, project drawing and designing services and trading of fabricating material, equipment parts and other items etc.
In 2013-14, the Company established a Branch Office in Nepal.
