Originally, the power generation division was a part of Bharat Forge and the Financial Services division but was later demerged into BF Utilities to improve operational efficiencies and focus better on core activities. BF Utilities has a capacity of 18.33 MW per annum at the Thoseghar plant. BF Utilities uses state-of-art technology in their machines provided by Enercon India Ltd, which operates a unique concept of gearless generators, giving them an advantage over other technologies used in turbines around the county. The promoters of the company currently hold 55.99% of the stake in the company, while the Foreign Institutional Investors (FII) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) hold 0.28% and 0.09% of the stake, respectively and the balance 13.09%, is owned by others (retail investors).
In June 2021, quarterly net sales were Rs. 4.3 crores, which has increased by approximately 14.67% from Rs. 3.75 crores for the April-June 2020 quarter. The quarterly net loss in June 2021 was Rs. 0.48 crores, which is similar to a net loss of Rs. 0.47 crores in June 2020. In June 2021, operating profit was reported at Rs. 0.33 crores, which is down by approximately 51.47% from Rs. 0.68 crores for the quarter ending in June 2020. From (Rs. 0.13) in June 2020, the EPS of Hindustan Copper has remained constant to (Rs. 0.13) in June 2021. BF Utilities stock closed at Rs. 438.35 on 13th August, 2021 (NSE) and has returned 59.14% in the last six months and 74.14% in the last year.
