News: L&T will collaborate with IIT Bombay for green hydrogen technology development. L&T signed an agreement with the IIT Bombay to jointly pursue research and development work in the green hydrogen value chain. L&T's engineering expertise, product scale-up and commercialisation know-how and IIT Bombay's cutting-edge research in hydrogen technologies will help this partnership accomplish its goal.
Views: India is well suited for green hydrogen production due to the low generation costs of renewable electricity from abundant solar and wind power sources. L&T is in line with its strategic vision to be present across the green energy value chain. The company has done different types of JVs for green hydrogen production. This will work well when the government will introduce a production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme to encourage the manufacturing of electrolysers.
