HAL IS IN TALKS TO PRODUCE AND EXPORT SUKHOI SU-30 FIGHTER JETS
HAL - 4488 Change: -121.40 (-2.63 %)News: As per the media sources, Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) is in talks to produce and export Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets from its Nashik facility, under an agreement between India and Russia to encourage joint manufacturing and technology transfer.
Views: HAL is the licensed manufacturer of Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jets and its AL-31 engines in India. About 260 Su-30 aircrafts are already in service with the Indian Air Force (which would be upgraded with new electronic warfare and radar systems) and 12 more Su-30 are expected to be ordered for IAF. Apart from Russia and India, Su-30 jets are used by countries like Myanmar, Malaysia, Venezuela, Algeria, Indonesia, Uganda, Vietnam, Armenia. We believe exports of these upgraded aircrafts presents significant market opportunities as India would also aim for export to other friendly countries and facilitate MRO (maintenance Repair & Overhaul).
Impact: Positive
