Brent Crude prices have risen to USD 84/barrel

ICICIdirect Research 14 Jul 2026 DISCLAIMER

News: Brent Crude prices have risen to USD 84/barrel rising from USD 73/barrel over the last 10 days. Fresh West Asia tensions have led to recent rise in crude oil prices from its lows.

View: Crude is an important input material for Paint companies and FMCG companies. Crude oil constitutes 20-25% of Paint companies input cost whereas for FMCG companies it forms ~10-15% of the input cost. Though Crude oil prices are down from peak of USD 115/barrel in May 2026, rising oil prices from lows can have negative sentiment impact in the stock prices of these companies which higher exposure to crude oil. Also, any further escalation in the West Asia crisis can lead to crude oil prices inching up higher thereby adding pressure to margins of Paints and FMCG companies ahead.

Impact: Negative
