Nifty January futures trade at premium

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 21,689.85, a premium of 42.65 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 21,647.20 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 added 28.50 points or 0.13% to 21,647.20.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, shed 1.07% to 12.83.

Polycab India, Reliance Industries and Infosys were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
