Nifty January futures trade at premium

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 21,809, a premium of 150.4 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 21,658.60 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 advanced 141.25 points or 0.66% to 21,658.60.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, tumbled 5.44% to 13.33.

Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
