Nifty August futures trade at premium

The Nifty August 2022 futures closed at 17,859.30, a premium of 34.05 points compared with the Nifty`s closing of 17,825.25 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange`s futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 80.20 lakh crore compared with Rs 60.22 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index added 127.10 points or 0.72% to settle at 17,825.25.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of the market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 0.44% to 17.69.

Muthoot Finance, HDFC Asset Management Company and Reliance Industries were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The August 2022 F&O contracts will expire on 25 August 2022.
