NIFTY APRIL FUTURES TRADE AT PREMIUM

The Nifty April 2023 futures closed at 17,442.25, a premium of 82.5 points compared with the Nifty`s closing of 17,359.75 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange`s futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 123.01 lakh crore compared with Rs 381.64 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 surged 279.05 points or 1.63% to settle at 17,359.75.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, slumped 5.08% to 12.94.

Reliance Industries (RIL), ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The April 2023 F&O contracts will expire on 27 April 2023.
