    Shares As Margin (SAM)

    What is Unpledge option in Shares as Margin and how long will it take for the shares to be unpledged?

    Shares as Margin allows you to pledge eligible shares held in your Demat account and use them to generate trading limits.

    If you no longer wish to keep your shares pledged, you can use the “Unpledge” option in the Shares as Margin page under Pledged Securities tab. Once the unpledge is processed, the shares will be released as free Demat holdings.

     

    When will my shares be released after I request an unpledge?

    The release timeline depends on when the unpledge request is placed:

    Unpledge requested before market hours:

    • The shares will be released and reflected as free holdings on the same day.

    Unpledge requested after market hours:

    • The shares will be released and reflected as free holdings after 1 day.
