    This Nifty strategy is designed to capture strong price breakouts in options beyond recent trading ranges with a hedged position and allows multiple re-entries.

     

    Key Details

    • Instrument: Nifty Weekly Options
    • Trading Time: 9:20 AM to 2:55 PM

    How It Works

    • Trade Trigger:
      • A trade is initiated when price breaks out above a recent key level
      • The strategy uses In-the-Money (ITM) options for directional trades with an opposite OTM option as a hedge

    Example:

      • Buy ITM Call → Hedge with OTM Put
      • Buy ITM Put → Hedge with OTM Call

     

    Hedging for Safety

    • Each trade is protected by buying an Out-of-the-Money (OTM) option in the opposite direction.
      • The hedge is held for a defined time to reduce price slippage and protect against unexpected reversals

    Stoploss & Trailing Stoploss

    • Every trade has a fixed stoploss to control risk.
    • A trailing stoploss is applied to lock in profits when the trade moves in the expected direction.

    Trade Limits

    • Maximum 15 directional trades for Calls and Puts per day.
    • Since each trade is hedged, the total number of positions can go up to 30 per day.

    • Strategy tries to capitalize on the recent breakouts
    • It has multiple opportunities to enter the trade, so missing a breakout is rare throughout the day
    • It has limited risk as compared to short trades, as it is a long strategy with predefined stoploss
    • It is an intraday strategy so there is no overnight theta decay risk
