GOLD TRADES AROUND $4,500, US NONFARM PAYROLLS IN FOCUS

Published on Sep 05, 2026 10:40

Gold futures declined towards $4,500 per ounce due to a stronger dollar and high Treasury yields, along with rising oil prices from renewed tensions in the Middle East, raising inflation worries. This shift in rate expectations has put pressure on gold, especially after recent hawkish comments following the Jackson Hole meeting. However, dovish remarks from Fed Governor Christopher Waller have eased concerns about a quick rate hike, making the August inflation data and jobs report critical for future monetary policy. MCX October gold futures fell 0.3% to Rs.1,55,362 per 10 grams.
