GOLD TILTS DOWN AS RATE-HIKE CONCERNS PROPER UP

Published on Sep 08, 2026 16:14

Gold prices fell to nearly $4,400 an ounce in electronic trading on Tuesday, continuing a downward trend due to expectations of more interest-rate hikes by major central banks. Rising oil prices linked to new US-Iran tensions heightened inflation worries, impacting monetary policy outlook. Investors are looking forward to key US inflation data this week ahead of the Federal Reserve`s policy meeting, with the ECB also anticipated to tighten policy. MCX October gold futures remained mostly stable at about Rs.1,52,790 per 10 grams.
