GOLD RECLAIMS $4,200 LEVEL

Published on Sep 30, 2026 17:35

Gold regained the $4,200 level per ounce in Asian trading Wednesday, recouping ground lost in the prior session, although the metal remains down more than 5% for September. A robust US dollar, trading near 101 and poised for an approximate 2% monthly advance, coupled with heightened anticipation of additional Federal Reserve rate increases, continued to restrain gains. Elevated oil prices are contributing to anxieties surrounding energy-led inflation, maintaining focus on the Federal Reserve’s policy trajectory. Market participants are now awaiting the PCE inflation report and Friday’s US jobs data for updated indications regarding the direction of interest rates. Within the domestic market, MCX December gold futures tracked the global recovery, advancing 1% to Rs 1,50,421 per 10 grams.
