GOLD NEARS $4,300 AS DOLLAR SLIPS, SILVER SURGES

Published on Aug 05, 2026 14:47

Gold climbed toward $4,300 an ounce on Wednesday, while silver surged above $62 to a multi-week high, supported by safe-haven and industrial demand. A weaker US dollar, with the dollar index below 100, further lifted precious metals as renewed US-Iran diplomacy eased oil supply concerns and lowered inflation fears. Investors now await US labour market data, including ADP private payrolls, for fresh clues on the Feds interest-rate path. MCX October gold futures gained 1.5% to Rs 1,46,440 per 10 grams, while September silver futures rose over 2% to Rs 2,26,210 per kg.
