BULLION EXTENDS LOSING STREAK

Published on Oct 28, 2026 16:52

Gold futures exhibited a consolidated trading pattern, holding in proximity to $4,050 per ounce on Wednesday, as market participants deferred to the Federal Reserve’s forthcoming policy decision for indications regarding the interest rate trajectory. The US dollar index maintained a position near 102.3, curtailing bullion’s potential for gains, while ongoing geopolitical concerns in the Middle East and erratic crude oil prices contributed to prevailing market ambiguity. Silver demonstrated notably weaker performance, declining almost 1% to below $53 per ounce, as metal-specific divestment exacerbated broader market headwinds, positioning prices for a third successive monthly downturn. The Federal Reserve`s policy statement and associated commentary will be subject to rigorous assessment by investors seeking insights into the likelihood of a rate increase in December. On MCX, December gold futures retreated marginally to Rs.1,44,009 per 10 grams amid listless activity.
