Apparel , home textiles, accessories expected to be included in Textile PLI 2.0
News:
As per media reports, the second edition of the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles is likely to offer incentives for manufacturing of garments and home textiles such as blankets and bed spreads, and textile accessories like lace, button and zippers. The Textiles Ministry is considering three investment thresholds of Rs 15 crore, Rs 30 crore and Rs 45 crore, with double turnover as the criteria for incentives that would range between 8% and 10% under the Rs 4200 crore scheme.

The scheme will attract investment and reduce the import dependence in textile accessories. Also, it will benefit Indian garment and home textile industry over the longer term and improve the global competitiveness of the Indian exporters present in both garment and home textile segments.
