Eicher Motors Commences assembly operations in Thailand
News: Royal Enfield, global leader in the mid-size motorcycle segment (250-750 cc) has commenced assembly [completely knocked down (CKD)] operations in Thailand. This unit was set up in partnership with GPX and will act as a distribution hub for all other countries in South-East Asia, including Indonesia, Vietnam, etc. To begin with, the facility will start local assembly of the Himalayan, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 models, starting this month.
View: Royal Enfield’s interceptor series (650 cc) segment is gaining good traction in the international markets. This is the company’s third assembly plant outside India with other ones being in Argentina and Colombia. This is in line with its vision to grow in the middle-weight category globally and offer attractive product profile to its customers.
