Bajaj Auto Limited has urged the Maharashtra government to clear pending electric vehicle subsidy dues

News: According to media sources, Bajaj Auto Limited has urged the Maharashtra government to clear pending electric vehicle subsidy dues of ₹60–70 crore under the state’s incentive scheme, while simultaneously evaluating Tamil Nadu and Karnataka for its next manufacturing expansion. The company is planning to scale up investments in electric two-wheelers, electric three-wheelers, and internal combustion engine vehicle production, but has raised concerns over delayed subsidy reimbursements and pending eligibility certificates in Maharashtra.

View: Bajaj Auto’s move highlights a growing concern among manufacturers regarding policy execution and delayed government incentives, which can directly influence future investment decisions. Maharashtra has traditionally been a major automotive hub, but subsidy delays may weaken investor confidence and push companies toward states like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka that offer faster policy support and stronger EV ecosystems.
