The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year as part of its participative vigilance initiatives to promote integrity and fight corruption. This year, it will be observed from October 27 to November 2, 2025, with the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
Vigilance Awareness Week serves as an important outreach initiative to encourage ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability across all sectors. It brings together citizens, organizations, and institutions to collectively strengthen the values of honesty and integrity in governance.
The week is observed during the period in which the birthday of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls, honouring his vision of a strong, transparent, and united India. Over the past few years, the Commission has also conducted preventive vigilance campaigns focusing on proactive measures to reduce corruption risks and promote ethical practices.
Vigilance is not just about identifying wrongdoing, it is about being conscious, responsible, and fair in every action. It encourages individuals and institutions to act with integrity, thereby fostering trust and good governance.
• Promote ethical behaviour and fairness in daily conduct.
• Encourage transparency in governance and public administration.
• Strengthen the culture of integrity through public participation.
As part of the observance, citizens are encouraged to take the Integrity Pledge and reaffirm their commitment to honesty and transparency in all walks of life. Every small action contributes to a stronger, more accountable society.
