Nifty Sept futures trade at premium

The Nifty September 2021 futures were at 17,259.40, a premium of 25 points compared with Nifty`s spot closing of 17,234.15.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index jumped 157.9 points or 0.92% to 17,234.15, its record closing high.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange`s futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 104.49 lakh crore compared with Rs 71.42 lakh crore in the previous session.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 0.38% to 14.24.

Reliance Industries, HDFC Life Insurance Company and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top traded stock futures contracts in F&O segment for September expiry.

The September F&O contracts will expire on 30 September 2021.
