Nifty January futures trade at premium

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 22,141, a premium of 43.55 points compared with the Nifty`s closing 22,097.45 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 advanced 202.90 points or 0.93% to 22,097.45.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, jumped 5.22% to 13.79.

Wipro, HDFC Bank and Infosys were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
