Nifty Dec futures trade at premium

The Nifty December 2021 futures were at 17,252.30, a premium of 55.6 points compared with the Nifty`s closing of 17,196.70 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange`s futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 46.27 lakh crore compared with Rs 130.59 lakh crore reported in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index tumbled 204.95 points or 1.18% to settle at 17,196.70.

The NSE`s India VIX, a gauge of market`s expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 2.03% at 18.4550.

Reliance Industries, Tata Steel and Infosys and were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The December 2021 F&O contracts expires on 30 December 2021.
