    What is the impact of Demerger on Vedanta shares pledged in Shares As Margin (SAM)

    Vedanta Ltd has announced a demerger of its existing business into 5 independent entities (including existing Vedanta Ltd), with a record date of May 01, 2026 (ex-date: April 30, 2026).

     

    Important updates related to your shares pledged in Shares as Margin (SAM):

    ◼️Haircut percentage of the stock will increase in a phased manner to 65% on April 28, 2026 EOD.

    ◼️You are advised to monitor existing position and maintain sufficient margin to avoid auto square-off of open positions.

    ◼️For every share of Vedanta Ltd you hold, you will receive 1 equity share of each of the four new entities.

    ◼️The newly listed entities will be released as free holding in your demat account within 1 day from the listing date. You may have to manually allocate these shares for reflecting in your “Demat Holdings” section through the Allocate option on the Demat holdings page.
