Gold Hits Fresh Eight Month High Above $1900 Per Ounce

Gold soared above $1900 per ounce amid escalating global geo political scenario. The Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the self-proclaimed separatist republics that his country backs in eastern Ukraine. This intensified tension with the West as the US warned Moscow plans an invasion of Ukraine and also said that the US will announce new sanctions against Russia on Tuesday. COMEX Gold futures are currently trading at $1913 per ounce, up 0.68% on the day. These are the highest levels in last eight months for the counter.
